I sooo want to make an afghan where no two square are alike but similar in design of color, that is, light, darker, bright (just for example of rows) followed by border of black or similar attractive choice. Using the same yarn type.

Is this called Jacob's coat of many colors granny square afghan?? I have seen this rarely. My Granny Murphy made one and I assume it is still in a cedar chest in her home where my aunt now lives. Maybe one day I will find it and use it. I hope so.

At any rate, I am trying to motivate myself to keep on this project long enough to one day finish it!

Currently making toddler afghans out of Bernat Satin yarn for three separate toddlers. Maybe they'll get them for Christmas.....I hope! I will post pics when they're finished.

love your posts, links and uplifting....God bless you all today.

I've found a lot of ways to use granny squares since we started the project. Here is one link to show making slippers with granny squares: http://www.purlbee.com/granny-square-slippers/

I will make a list of several online patterns and offer up links to some patterns.

Your afghan is very attractive. I love the colors and your method of constructing it with contrasting colors. Well done! Susan
